On the night of the judging I got a phone call from the president of the Guild asking if I was likely to be at the awards presentation. Well, I said I expected I could be there, and she said "I highly recommend that you attend if you can".........intriguing wouldn't you think?
I received 2 awards.......one as 3rd place in the Traditional Quilt category, then I was awarded "the Best Hand Made Quilt" in the show!
My friend Maureen was sitting next to me and had been involved in the judging day, not as a judge, but as a helper.......and she knew! After I got the smaller award, she suggested I not relax too much. It was really a huge surprise and a real treat.

I have more photos from the show, but I have to get permission before I show you. I do have some Sydney shots though. I stayed with my cousin at her beautiful harbour-side apartment.
How would you like to wake to this each day?
This is my niece Julie, sister Di, and me....out to lunch on a windy day in Newcastle
