Circuit Riders Quilt - block 6 - Hearts and Flowers

I am very pleased that a number of people have joined into the Block of the Month programme for the Circuit Rider's Quilt.  I have just finished making Block number 6.  They are very simple blocks to make.  For me it takes about 3 evenings of hand applique to finish one block.  If I was not doing other jobs as well, I could probably have the whole thing finished in a month or two.  Now that I have finished all my class samples for hand piecing and applique I may just be able to do that.

I am still taking names from any one who wants to join in. It is a 12 month programme, and after that you can keep making your own blocks.   Go to the Legend and Lace Website to join, or contact me at Wendy@Legendandlace.com for more details.

Beyond the Cherry Trees - Block 9

I took this hand work with me last week on my travels.  After some very busy days it was quite relaxing to sit and sew quietly.  It was much easier than the previous 2 blocks which had so many circles in one, and leaves in the other.  Not so sure about the bird :-(  might leave it for a while and see if I still feel the same in a couple of months.

Just as I was snapping the photo, little miss Skylar stuck her head in the photo!  Thinks only she should be in photos.  Thought I would share it anyway.

Cookie Monster - Skylar

Yesterday my grand-daughter, Skylar, came to visit for the afternoon.  We decided to make dottie cookies.  She was a very big help - lots of testing and tasting going on.

This is how we mix the cookies and test they are ok
This is how we add the Smarties to the top of the cookies

All done - nearly ready to eat.

Circuit Rider Block 5 - Pomegranate

I thought I would get this block ready to take as my hand sewing when I go to Sydney next week.  I drew it all up and thought, might as well tack the pieces in place, and might sew a few of the bits down,  Well, before I knew it, the block was finished.  Now I am going to have to find something else to take with me.  Probably block 6, as I have that drawn up as well.

I will add it to the Legend and Lace Website  in the next few days.  It will not be avalailable until the end of July.  Just getting in early.
