A little gift for you all

I have been trying to think of what I might be able to do next year as a gift to you all......a BOM, or similar to what we had last year.

I have come up with an applique block of the month.  There is no charge for the blocks, but you will have to get it quick.  I will put it up on the top RHS of this page, and it will be there, free of charge for one month.  After that time, it will be on my website, still as a digital pattern, but with a small charge.  Just click on the image, and it *should* take you to the drawing.

It will print out as an 8"block if you set your printer to "actual size".  If you want it larger,  then you will need to adjust the configurations of your printer.  All printers are different, so you will need to sort this part out for yourselves.

This first block is called Clover and Spades.  It is a very traditional block, and all the blocks will be, and they will be of a similar style.

My plan is to have each new block ready for you on or about the 20th of the month as I have done in the past.

The name???  Red and Green Again!  of course.

Happy sewing everyone.

Thanks for your support during the last year.  I love to hear from you and get your feedback.

  1. Wendy, thanks so much. I always enjoy your blog and your lovely quilts. My first love is applique. Should I start another quilt? Probably not, but it's hard to resist a pretty block like Clover and Spades!

  5. Merry Christmas to us! Thanks so much for the promise of another wonderful year of applique! I am really excited....BUT.....I tried to print the drawing and although I have it at 100% it is printing at 7.25" square..What am I doing wrong?

  6. I tried the printing again, just to check. I set my printer at "actual size" and it prints the full width of the paper. When I measured it is 8". Everyones computer/printer is going to be different. Just play about with it and add small % to make it right.

  7. Thanks, Wendy, for answering my concern AND for solving my problem. I printed using "actual size" instead of 100% and it came perfectly at the 8"....it's always good to learn something new with this technology as well!
Best wishes for the holiday and the New Year 2016!

  9. I've been looking for some alternative blocks to use in my CCCQ project as substitutes for ones I wasn't that keen on, Clover and Spades will be perfect. Thank you so much for your generosity and I look forward to seeing the other blocks.

  10. Hi, Wendy, Is there a supply list for your new free BOM? I wanted to purchase enough background fabric. Thank you so very much for sharing your pattern, time and talent.

  11. Lona - I am so sorry I missed your comment/question. It was awaitng moderation. Anything over 2 weeks old goes into this folder, and I did not see it. Supplies? there are 12 blocks each needs to be cut 9"square....so you can cut 4 across the width of fabric, 1 metre/yard would be enough for the background. The rest is scrappy.....just use what you have.
