old time knitting
Yes, I have been knitting again. Don;t you just love this neck warmer? I saw a girl knitting one just recently and remembered seeing them when I was a kid. It looks like a bow tie, and has a little slot where you put one side through the other. I found the pattern on Ravelry. I adjusted the pattern a little, made it wider and longer, but it is so easy. This one is for my friend Marilyn. It is made from an Argentinian wool 75% Merino and 25% nylon. Very soft. I made one for myself as well in Aubergine colours.
Now that I have completed my current knitting phase, it is back to applique, and the latest Beyond the Cherry Tree block. Took a while, but I got there.

I would love to learn to knit!!! My sixth grade teacher knitted us mittens and I wore them to shreds!!! Maybe when I finish a couple of quilting projects I'll pick it up again - I've knitted about 15 inches of a scarf - then gave up!!!

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen one of those neck warmers for years either!!! I do love your applique, very nice! It's something I just can't get to look right, so I admire those who do!!!!

I remember those - they don't fall off! Great when you are a kid rushing around and when you are a busy adult with hands full of children's stuff. Lovely block - have you got many more to do?
ReplyDeletePretty warmer - fun to see your color choices and the yarn sounds perfectly soft.
ReplyDeleteGood to see your applique - I need to get going on this months - hoping not to get behind again.
Thanks for sharing!
Oooh, I love your block!
